The METS industries encompass a variety of services and thousands of jobs in Victoria – including mineral exploration, mining products, engineering consulting, construction, information and communications technology and community and professional services.

About the program

The METS Regional Innovation Accelerator program is a four-year program, launched in October 2019, that will assist Mining Equipment and Technology Services (METS) companies to innovate and grow.

The program will provide help with a range of topics including procurement in the mining industry, technology support, networking and collaboration opportunities and product marketing.

The program is being co-designed so that it can be tailored to suit the needs of the region and its METS businesses, ranging from companies with products in the early stages of development to established companies who want assistance to expand into new markets.

The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions launched the METS Regional Innovation Accelerator Program in Bendigo on 11 October 2019.

Minister Jaclyn Symes attended the Bendigo event which gave local businesses in the sector the opportunity to discuss the support they need to drive innovation and investment.

Industry leaders outlined their collaboration experiences and what they look for in partnerships, local businesses talked about their success stories, options for capability accelerators were showcased and there was a Q&A panel with industry leaders.
