The METS industries encompass a variety of services and support thousands of jobs in Victoria – including mineral exploration, mining products, engineering consulting, construction, information technology and professional services.

About the program

The METS Regional Innovation Accelerator program is designed to help regionally based businesses to engage with local mining companies, fast-track product innovation and promote their services.

The first program will be online followed by a series of targeted business improvement forums and accelerators will be run in Victoria’s regional centres.

The 2020 winter program has been designed as an online seminar program consisting of weekly sessions for eight weeks.

Four of the sessions will be mini workshops, where current issues will be presented and discussed.

The four remaining sessions will cover general business development,  skills to support managers and help staff build the skills needed to drive business success.

More sessions may be added.

Past Events

The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions launched the METS Regional Innovation Accelerator Program in Bendigo on 11 October 2019.

Minister Jaclyn Symes attended the Bendigo event which gave local businesses in the sector the opportunity to discuss the support they need to drive innovation and investment.

Industry leaders outlined their collaboration experiences and what they look for in partnerships, local businesses talked about their success stories, options for capability accelerators were showcased and there was a Q&A panel with industry leaders.

You can register for one or more of the online sessions using the following Eventbrite links in the tables above.

To participate in these sessions, you must have:

  • A reliable internet connection
  • A device you can use to access the internet (a smartphone, tablet or computer)
  • A microphone
  • A webcam (preferred but not essential)

The sessions will be live with one or two presenters. Participants will be able to interact with the presenters and ask questions at the end of each session.

The sessions will run using video conference software Webex which can be accessed using your browser or via the Webex app.

These training sessions are open to METS and related employees at all levels.

All sessions are free.

Sessions are open to current METS companies and companies keen on exploring opportunities in the sector. All welcome.

The online forums are not restricted by location – attendees can dial in from anywhere.
