Project information and factsheets
The Latrobe Valley Regional Rehabilitation Strategy (LVRRS) will address some of the key knowledge gaps and unresolved issues associated with the pit lake rehabilitation options.
Factsheets about the project and the technical studies that will be undertaken have been prepared.
In November 2017 we hosted a series of open days across the Latrobe Valley to provide interested members of the local community with information about the project.
Annual progress report
The Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry: Victorian Government Implementation Plan June 2016 requires an annual report to be prepared each year on the progress of preparation for the Latrobe Valley Regional Rehabilitation Strategy (LVRRS).
The LVRRS Overview outlines the key principles which will guide the preparation of the final Latrobe Valley Regional Rehabilitation Strategy and articulates the role of government and the mine operators in rehabilitation planning for the region.
The release of the Overview provided an opportunity for public comment and feedback ahead of the final Strategy being published in June 2020.
Consultation on the Overview concluded on 17 January 2020. It is anticipated that a consultation report will be published on Engage Victoria in early March 2020.
