Mine Land Rehabilitation Authority
The Mine Land Rehabilitation Authority (MLRA) has been established as an independent statutory authority effective from 30 June 2020. It replaces the Latrobe Valley Mine Rehabilitation Commissioner, in place since June 2017 to promote the effective and consistent rehabilitation of coal mine land in accordance with the Latrobe Valley Regional Rehabilitation Strategy. The MLRA assumes the Commissioner’s roles and functions for the Latrobe Valley coal mines and any mines in Victoria that may be deemed to pose significant risks of harm to the community, environment and infrastructure.
