IMARC Online 2020
Victoria’s resource sector is always front and centre at Australia’s biggest mining event, the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC).
In 2020 the event was held online between 24 and 27 November. The different approach proved no barrier to success.
There were over 6,000 registered attendees for the opening morning with involvement over the event from 126 countries. More than 300 speakers presented on a wide variety of topics. There were 130 plus Virtual Booths from companies from all corners of the world.
The Victorian Government is a founding partner of the event along with Austmine, AusIMM and Mines and Money. IMARC has been connecting Australian resources and METS companies to the rest of the world since 2014, with thousands of domestic and international explorers, investors and financers attending the annual conference in Melbourne.
It is more important than ever for Victoria’s resources sector to connect with the global industry to share knowledge that could result in business opportunities and local jobs.
In 2020, Global Victoria and the Geological Survey of Victoria showcased the state’s potential for new gold and minerals discoveries. Victoria’s innovative export-orientated Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sector was also promoted, showing how local companies are reaching around the world to solve mining challenges.
