Jane Burton from the department’s Resources branch recently won the Exceptional Woman category at the Victorian Women in Resources Awards.

Jane Burton and Sally Capp, Lord Mayor of MelbourneJane Burton from the department’s Resources branch recently won the Exceptional Woman category at the Victorian Women in Resources Awards.

It’s a great achievement and due recognition of Jane’s great work across resources industry, particularly in the Latrobe Valley where she’s based.

The Victorian Women in Resources Awards are hosted by the Minerals Council of Australia and supported by the AusIMM Women in Mining Network Victoria.

Showcasing the brilliant work women are doing across the sector, the awards increase awareness amongst young women of the career paths within resources and highlight the commitment of resources companies to increasing gender diversity.

The Victorian Women in Resources Awards are an important step on the road to greater workplace gender equity and a more dynamic and successful sector.

We wish Jane the best when she heads over to NSW in September and represents Victoria at the Women in Resources National Awards.
