The rules and procedures guiding Victoria’s quarry sector have been streamlined to better manage the industry’s risks and build public confidence, better support quarry operators and provide certainty about site rehabilitation.

The rules and procedures guiding Victoria’s quarry sector have been streamlined to better manage the industry’s risks and build public confidence, better support quarry operators and provide certainty about site rehabilitation.

Shaped by industry input through the Regulatory Impact Statement process, the improved regulations came into effect on 26 January, and address

• work plan requirements;
• rehabilitation plan requirements;
• infringement offences; and
• annual reporting requirements.
