The International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) is coming back to Melbourne on 28 October.

This year’s conference will be showcasing and promoting the Victorian minerals and mining services sectors to local and international audiences.

Growth in minerals exploration spending within Victoria has outpaced the nation for the fourth consecutive year, with increased success from exploration through to commercial production. Geoscience data and research shows western Victoria has promising potential for copper, gold and other metals that could be the catalyst for a new wave of investment and jobs.

Victoria also has a multibillion-dollar Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sector. METS encompasses many segments of our economy, including mineral exploration, mining products, engineering consulting, construction, information and communications technology, community and professional services.

The METS sector is responsible for 120,000 local jobs with companies located throughout Victoria, with a major concentration in Melbourne and regional hubs in Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong and the Latrobe Valley.

Being involved in an international conference is great for Victoria cause we are trying to get that investment, first of all into Australia, and then definitely into Victoria.
