Community Information Session – Lysterfield quarries

We're inviting the Lysterfield and Rowville community to learn more about local quarries, how they operate and the regulatory controls in place.

We're inviting the Lysterfield and Rowville community to learn more about local quarries, how they operate and the regulatory controls in place.

In response to interest in the activities of the Boral and Hanson quarries, we have scheduled a webinar for 7pm on Wednesday 24 March 2021.

The session will explore the roles of Earth Resources Regulation, Knox City Council, the Environment Protection Authority and the Department of Transport in overseeing quarrying related activities in the area.

Community views about how the sites are operating will also be addressed and how locals can provide feedback will be explained.

Attendees will be able to submit questions at registration and during the one-hour session.

All quarries must operate in accordance with regulations to protect public safety, the environment and comply with the different approvals in place.
