GeoVic is a free mapping tool which allows you to search geospatial databases and to display the results as maps or tables. The datasets include: 

  • the location of current and expired tenements
  • land status for exploration and mining
  • historic mining activity
  • airborne surveys
  • geological sites and data
  • topographical, gravity, digital terrain model and radiometric images 

Online Store and catalogue

Browse an extensive range of Geological Survey of Victoria (GSV) publications including geology related maps, digital data, reports, magazines and fact sheets via the Online Store.

GSV has produced thousands of publications over its long history. Access the entire catalogue via the Search Assistant.

The Information Centre handles general inquiries about mining and exploration in Victoria and is the place to lodge applications for mineral licences and renewals.
