Tender Information

Tender now open – until 15 August 2018

On 22 June 2018, the Victorian Minister for Resources Tim Pallas MP opened the Stavely Ground Release Tender for 11 large prospective new minerals exploration licence areas, located in the southern half of the Stavely Arc in western Victoria.

Priority is being given to tenders proposing to explore for copper, gold and other eligible metals. Exploration proposals for other minerals (except coal and gas) will also be considered.

Successful tenderers will be awarded the right to be the sole applicant to apply to the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources (DEDJTR) for a minerals exploration licence over the relevant block, and have the opportunity to be awarded exploration grant funding from the Victorian Government.

TARGET exploration grants are available

As part of the tender package, mineral exploration grants of up to $500,000 per block for successful tenderers are being offered, from the Victorian Government’s $15 million TARGET Minerals Exploration Initiative’s grants program.

The TARGET grants are for eligible exploration activities for copper, gold and other eligible metals only, over the first three years of the licence, and are available on a co-funded basis (i.e. to be matched by the applicant). Eligibility requirements are outlined in the tender documents.

TARGET is a major Victorian Government initiative to encourage exploration investment in the most prospective geological provinces in the State.
