How we consult and engage with our stakeholders

All Victorians are stakeholders, particularly those affected by energy and resource sector developments.

Our stakeholders include people in the community, those working in the industry and land and licence holders.

This information is for community and landholders to help them learn more about their rights and for industry to know their responsibilities to consult and engage.

Our Mining Act

An application for a mining or exploration licence may be confronting for landholders and the community.

The Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Act 1990 requires licensees to ensure operators work with communities and give them the opportunity to provide feedback during the exploration or mining phase of a project.
